Ryan age 11

This is a layout I just completed of my oldest son when he was 11 and a half. The paper is DCWV, the stars are American Crafts chipboard, and the letters are all Thickers. The black letters are also, but I added some glitter glue to them. The turqoise set only had one "1". Don't you hate it when that happens, lol? It's a very simple layout, but I like it :).

Been awhile

It has been awhile since I've posted. If you've been following me, I do apologize. Many things have happened these past few months. Of course the main thing keeping my away from posting is that I went for a bit with no internet. Other things: I quit the scrapbooking group I had been a part of for several years. I had come to realize that most of the people were not my true friends; in fact, some of them are about as fake as you can get and I decided that I no longer want to be associated with those people. But I'm still scrapping :). I also got a job! I am an assistant teacher at a Montessori preschool. It's not my ideal teaching job, but it's a job and experience. I've not yet decided if I will go back next school year, but I do know that I will actively look for another school over the summer. I'm still a Mary Kay representative, but it's not going as well as I had hoped for. That is another thing that I am also planning on working on over the summer. My husband also go injured back in Nov. on his job. He suffered a severe concussion that has to this day left him with a headache/migraine every day since. Because of his "condition" he was also laid off. They "feared for his safety", but in reality it was all political and financial. And the biggest thing is that we moved. And of course it couldn't just be a simple move either. It has turned into quite an ugly mess that I won't go into. But although we have moved into a new home, it's not quite over yet.

Through all of this, I have realized that I am much stronger than I thought was. I have had my share of depression lately, but I finally feel like I am on the up side. I am so glad that I actually was able to move because my new house is bigger and cheaper than the other, and my kids all stay in the same schools. In fact they even still ride the same busses! And I have cool  neighbors too who really stepped up and helped me out of the goodness of their hearts. I'm still working on unpacking and organizing my house, but I am excited to do so. We've gone from 960 sq. ft. to 1400 sq. ft. and it feels almost like we moved into a mansion, lol. So, I am going back to some unpacking and cleaning. I'll start posting my projects again soon!

Love

This is another card I made at a church crop. I love the colors of it. And I also love that mix of the patterns. Sometimes I don't feel like I do a good job at that, but I do love overall how this card turned out. Again, I am not totally in love with the stamped sentiment. In part I'm sure because it's not quite straight, but also it just seems so plain. I had originally planned to have an outline of light blue around the diamond, but couldn't get the cuts right from my Gypsy. So anyway, here's the card:

I chose that particular stamp because I thought it would be a good card to give to a guy given the colors. I still may pull that diamond off and do a different one though. I am going to spend a little bit of time scrapping today, so I'll have to show in the future :). Hope you all have a wonderful day! And don't forget; once I get to 50 followers I'll be doing a giveaway!

Time!

Time has gotten away from me! My landlord has been coming over which has meant flight of the bumblebee cleaning ( and I know you all know what I'm talking about!), laundry, kids' activities, and working my Mary Kay business has kept me busy these last couple days. SO, I'm taking a breather before I go pick up my son from band practice (story of my life!). I really like the way this card turned out, with the exception of the sentiment. I think it would have looked better if it had been heat embossed, because then it would show up better, and look nicer. The two labels I cut with my Cricut/Gypsy. I forget what cartridge, but I was so proud of myself for getting two of them like that, lol. The Gypsy has a HIGH learning curve if you're thinking about getting one. I really need to watch some youtube video's on it again. But anyway, here is my card:

The sentiment says "hello" and is from the Stampin' Up set that coordinates with their tag punch. The light green is dotted swiss. I do really like the colors and the look of the brown inking. I hope that you all like it! I'll be showing you another one tomorrow. Have a great day!

Coming soon!

I'll have more things to share starting tomorrow! I still have a couple cards I haven't posted. I also got to go scrapbooking on Friday night. I have three more layouts almost done. I kept finding that I wanted my Cricut, which I don't take on the short crops. I had hoped to finish them today but between laundry, cleaning and having the outside of the house being painted it just hasn't happened. It's actually a beautiful day outside! I love it! It doesn't feel at all like December, which doesn't bother me in the least. I hope that you are all enjoying the last day of the weekend! Check back tomorrow for a new project :).

1 Day

This the last layout I have done of my daughter's baby album. I still have many more photo's to scan, and they are in no particular order. I have piles of pictures in various places, and whatever is there, is there. The title is done with grungeboard, and then colored with a copic marker that has glitter in it.

Now, I love the bling given by rhinestones. HOWEVER, it is a pain in the butt to get the words and shapes onto the layout without getting messed up. You need more than two hands to accomplish the task sometimes! But I hope you have enjoyed seeing my baby layouts. I'll have some cards to show next :).

Don't forget! I'll host a giveaway when I hit 50 blog followers!

What I am thankful for

In honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow, I thought I would post about what I'm thankful for. I recently had my mammogram done, and it was clear! So I am definitely thankful for my health, and the fact that the surgery/radiation/pills have done what they are supposed to be doing. I'm thankful for my wonderful family and my very dear friends. Through this past year they have all been there for me. I am thankful that through my experiences this past year that I was able to learn who my real friends are. It's not as many as I thought, but that's ok. I am so much happier now knowing what friends are there for me and genuinely care about me. I am also extremely thankful for my husband. He brings such a joy to my life, and he has since way back in high school. It's hard to believe we've been together for so long! I am so thankful for the wonderful memories we have together. I can't imagine what my life would be like if we hadn't ever met. I am so thankful that the "first time around" I found my soul mate. I am also thankful for some of the "little things". The roof over my head, the power in my home, being able to do things with my kids, etc. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. If you'd like, leave a comment telling what you're thankful for.
